Narratives

Residents, practitioners and public authorities articulate the qualities of a place in their own words. Visioning workshops collect desirable futures, emerging initiatives and perceived barriers to change. Transect walks then elicit narratives through concrete places, sounds, views, memories and everyday practices, supported by historical material, photographs, route tracking and audio recordings. The material is transcribed and geolocated, so that what is said about a place can be set beside what is recorded there, and read against a criteria framework linking Baukultur to sense of place.
